Pick up at your hotel

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Granada. Pick up between 9:30-10:00 and return between 15:00-15:30.

The tour will take you through the beautiful country views of Granada's Vega, the Sierra Nevada and the charming Lecrin Valley. We will drive through countryside of olive and almond trees.

Visit to the Olive Grooves

At first, let's take a look at the olive trees! These very old grandfathers have many things to tell us! Our guide will explain about the different varieties of olive trees and olives, the harvesting season, the olive tree life cycle and some more interesting stories about this great tree.

Visit to the XV century Oil Mill

In a small white village of the Lecrin Valley, we will visit a beautifully preserved XV century oil mill; unique in Spain! We will see the oil extraction techniques that have been used for thousands of years until 1920.

Learn all about

At a specialized store, we will compare the traditional with the modern production processes. We will discuss the properties and benefits of olive oil for health & beauty and culinary uses.
We will learn a little more about the different oils and their labels: organic, virgin, virgin extra, one single olive variety, acidity percentage, appellations of origin, etc.

Taste the best olive oils

Olive oil tasting: now let's enjoy tasting some of them!
We'll taste some of the most representative oils and learn how to feel in different places of our palate, the bitterness, the spicy, and the fruity sensations, as well as other qualities and characteristics of olive oils.

If you want to do shopping

Also at our store, (which is in the heart of the first olive oil producing region of the world) you will find an excellent selection of Andalusia’s best olive oils products. These include specially selected olive oils, olives, olive paté, salts, saffron, vinegar, cosmetics made with extra virgin organic olive oil and other delicious local products such as wine, Serrano ham and cheese. You will also find unique pieces of Granada’s Taracea woodwork art.

Typical lunch

It's time to eat! Let's go to the a typical Andalusian restaurant: a 'Mesón'. The lunch will be from a typical homemade Andalusian menu, including a starter (you can choose between: salad with almond and goat cheese, gazpacho, different stews…), the main dish (either: grilled or fried fresh fish, duck confit, scallops of pork in mushroom sauce and other local specialties…), a drink (wine, water or a fizzy drink), dessert and coffee.

Beautiful views

The tour takes you through the beautiful Lecrin Valley. We will stop at a viewpoint to admire the multiple colors and perfumes of this hilly countryside. From this point you can appreciate the orange and lemon fields, the lake of Beznar, the terraces and small white villages so typical of the area.

Extra wine tasting

OPTIONAL: A tasting of 4 different Andalusian wines:

As an additional option, we propose a tasting 4 different Andalusian wines: a white Moscatel de Alexandria from Jete and a red tempranillo from la Alpujarra, la Contraviesa and a Fino and Pedro Ximenez, from Montilla-Moriles. These wines will be served with appetizers (tapas): Serrano ham and local fresh goat cheese appetizers. (This is an extra option that costs 15 euros more).
